1. Your time with me each week is reserved for you and only you. You are paying for a dedicated and guaranteed half hour each week that is yours to utilize. When you reserve a time slot, you are responsible to pay for that time slot for the entire month, regardless of scheduling issues. If it is not possible for you to be at your reserved lesson time, we can reschedule that lesson (according to rescheduling policies below.)
These are the following dates which you are not respsonsible to pay for:
-Memorial Day (Last Monday in May)
-4th of July
-Labor Day (1st Monday in September)
-Thanksgiving (4th Thursday and Friday in November)
-Christmas/New Years (The week before and after Christmas)
2. 24 hour notice is required to reschedule a lesson. If 24 hour notice is given, we can find an alternative time that works to reschedule our lesson for some other time during the week or month. Please let me know when cancelling a lesson if you would like to reschedule, otherwise I will assume you do not want to schedule a make up lesson. Regardless of the situation, you are responsible to pay for your lesson time. If a lesson needs to be reschedule because of my personal schedule, we will find a time that is convenient for you. If a make up is not possible in that situation, then you will be credited for that lesson.
3. Students who are sick will be given rescheduling priority. Please provide me with at least 4 hours notice to reschedule a lesson due to illness, as this gives me enough time to offer that time slot to others who are waiting for a makeup lesson.
4. Your balance for each month is due on the first lesson of each month. For instance, if your first lesson in April is Monday, April 2, your balance for the month of April is due on that lesson. An email will be sent out reminding you of your balance before it is due. If you would prefer a paper reminder, please let me know.
5. If you are running late (traffic, crazy schedules, etc.) please call me just to let me know that you are on your way. If 10 minutes pass with no call, I assume that student is not coming, and will sometimes run errands or proceed to other work. I would hate to miss you if you are coming late!
6. Practice is so important, so encourage your child to pracitce at least 4-5 days a week. On those busy days where a full practice is impossible, have your child play through each of the pieces on their practice schedule once. This keeps them fresh in their head so they do not lose progress.
7. The music studio is on the side of the house, through the sliding glass door. There is a rock pathway on the right side of the house that leads to the music studio. Students are encouraged to wait unitl it is their lesson time before coming into the studio. Please avoid coming more than a minute or two early.
8. There is a couch available in the studio if you desire to sit in on your childs lesson, or many parents choose to wait in the car or run errands during their child's lesson. Please feel free to come inside if you would like to speak with me or ask any questions.
